Hello everyone!

My name is Jessica Hoover, and I’m very pleased to make your acquaintance! I would like to offer my thanks to you for taking the time to read my blog. Ever since I was a little girl, history has always enthralled me, and as I grew older, my love for history only grew stronger. I graduated from Belmont Abbey College with my BA in History and a minor in Government and Political Philosophy in 2015. When I’m not taking part in Civil War reenactments or exploring battlefields and historic sites, I can be found reading a good book or enjoying a cup of my favorite coffee! I also come from a proud Catholic homeschooling family, and my homeschooling education helped deepen both my love for history and my love of reading.

Though I find many eras in history fascinating, the American Civil War is the period that has piqued my interest the most, and it still does to this day. I love to read about the experiences of those who took up arms and fought in states like Virginia, North Carolina, and Maryland, just to name a few, as well as the stories of those who bravely faced adversity on the home front. The great hardships and sacrifices endured by so many during that time are a great source of inspiration to all future generations of Americans. I am honored to be able to share my passion for Civil War history with all of you, and it is my hope that you find it as captivating as I do.
